OK. We both have stage I colon cancer. Mine was detected in my routine colonoscopy normal in 2016. I live to a ripe old age. You are dead in 3 years.

There was a reason why the life expectancy was 40 years in 1880. No such thing as an antibiotic. No immunizations.

Life expectancy in 1880 was lower, but life span as about the same. If a person made it to twenty, he was darn near where he would be today at twenty. I've seen the actuarial tales; I was surprised.

This is true.

My great-grandparents were working and raising a family in the 1880s. They both lived to ripe old ages (he - 80s, she - 90s). All their surviving children lived to 80s and 90s. But they lost 2 boys in childhood, something that may or may not have been preventable today. So, that's the real difference.

Well, you don't have to use 2016 technology. In fact, you are using it now just by being on the computer.

use what you can until it is no longer available, to get to a point where you can live without it.

The following is strictly for enjoyment. The first is self-explanatory. The second leads us into the world of the nineteenth century equestrian. Be sure to follow the link at the bottomfor more pleasantries.

I just found this watercolor of two lady hikers. I wish ladies wore clothes of this sort today.

They're too fat to fit into them today!

Search back through this thread for the posts on corsets. Do not believe the leftist myth that today's women are fat. The problem is that they dress like slatterns.

I wouldn't mind seeing women dress more modestly and feminine. Leaving something to the imagination can be tantalizing.

I try not to believe any leftist's myths...my observation was what I observe with my own eyes. There are so many "sloppy fat" people of both sexes, that our perception of what is "fat" has been altered.

As for the women looking like sluts, I agree. It's not just their clothes -- it's the bleached hair, the tattoos, the body piercings and yes, the lack of clothing. I never realized how many different colors of bra straps there are today! Who's designing this crap?
