with this kinda snow how many times do you loose power and such?
The fence is 4 ft tall. haha

Power, not really a problem anymore. Most all power and phone here is in the ground. When it was strung from pole to pole it was a problem. Last year we lost power twice, each time for less then a couple of minutes.

Jammie & others,
There is also another very easy way to post pics on this BB. Simply go
to the following web address. No sign up needed, no downloads.
((((((((Upload Pic Utility - Virginia Rockhounder)))))))))
Then simply hit browse and find the pic you want and hit upload.
Immediately it will give you the typed version of the pic you want. Simply
add that line anywhere, and presto, you have a pic appear on the BB
Have a good day.

How is the OHV scene there? We ride dirtbikes and race off-road here in CA, but are constantly being hounded on by the greenies. Are there a lot of trails near the Rapid City/Black Hills areas? Can you get a rhino street legal? Do you have any dirtbike races anywhere in SD? Or snowmobile???

I love the pictures!!! We visited the Black Hills, Keystone, Rapid City, Deadwood and Spearfish last April and just loved it. We are thinking about relocating there. CA is too hot!!!! We are in the high desert and its just hot for about 6 or 7 months out of the year. It is still 81 degrees at 7:30 in the morning . Just hate it. The Black Hills are just beautiful!!!!!

My husband works in construction as a home builder. Are there any builders there that build spec homes? Anyone we can contact???

You guys are awesome!! Thanks for all the great information and pictures here!!! This information is golden!!!

Yes, I believe the Hills area has riding trails, but I'll let the locals there give you the specifics since I don't know them. My guess is they have dirt bike trails and races out there. Eastern So. Dak. has a dirt bike trail about 10 miles south of Mitchell and there are also motorcyle and car races in Sioux Falls. Mitchell also has snowmobile races on the lake in the winter and there are people from a huge area that race here. More then likely even a few from the Hills area.

I have heard a few things on the radio where people were debating the fact that the snowmobiles were scaring the animals that live along the trails. Somehow, I'm thinking about Custer State Park, but we'll have to wait for verification on that cause I'm not sure.

So glad you liked the Hills area. It is beautiful and peaceful out there. I only live a half a day away from there, but wish it was closer.

Jammie, I'll be willing to bet you know exactly where these three pics were taken, seeing as it's right outside of Mitchell.
