His was a rumblin, bumblin, stumblin post if I've ever seen one. Chris Bierman would be proud.
If SD isn't a place for old people why is it one of the top ranked states to retire? It's low taxes, low fees, exceptional healthcare along with safety is matched by few. Winter weather is the one negative. I can't count the number of retirees that live here 9 months out of the year and go south for the winter. Literally "flocks" of them.
If you're a young person wanting to
be employed and raise a family it also has few equals. If you're single, need constant entertaining, and want the government to take care of your every need, it's definitely not the place for you. You have to have a work ethic to fit in and truly be appreciated here.
SD is making great strides in teacher pay. They needed to. The quality of education is still very high which is a kudu to our teacher workforce's dedication. This is also due to SD still having strong family values that have all but eroded away in many parts of our country.
Contaminated water and dirty air? Where did tikiviet come up with that one? Water quality might not be quite what you'll find in the higher altitudes of the Rockies, but it's better than most other places. How many states can realistically brag that their air quality is better than SD? Some are as good maybe, but better?
Our taxes and insurance for our vehicles are so low that a whole industry has popped up in SD where we're the "home" state for people that live in their RV year around.
tikiviet needs to move back to Rainbow Playland as he remembers it where life is a box of chocolates.
