St. Louis is a lot less segregated than it used to be, but it still has white and black areas.

St. Louis has the hottest and most humid Summer climate of any location in the Midwest. It is substantially hotter and more humid the parts of the upland areas of the Southeast I am familiar with.

Iowa has hot summers too. Is Iowa a southern state?

No, I was referring to average high temperatures combined with humidity. St. Louis has far hotter summers with more humidity than anywhere in Iowa. The areas of the Southeast that have lower Summer temperatures compared to St. Louis would be western regions of Virginia, North Carolina, northern Georgia, northeast Tennessee, and the Cumberland Plateau.

Last summer got pretty hot. This year we haven't had a single day I would consider to be super hot (Yet). Today for example we turned off the AC and opened our windows. Anyway though, I love St. Louis summers. Nothing nicer than sitting next to the pool with a cold Schlafly on a hot day

I have had friends from edmonton canada and fairbanks alaska complains about summer inferno and the worst i have had was at devils lake, wisconsin. Annual variations makes each place seem worse than it is. Last year was a whole different story. And the places you visit during peak season seem hotter than your home town.

You know how to tell if someone is an idiot?

They think St. Louis is a "Southern city."

I would not consider StL southern at all. Being from MO and having lived in StL, I just don't see that. I'm from southern MO originally, and I get why people might think some of MO is - people from the northern parts of the US or even Cali might consider it "southern" as of course geographically it's quite a bit south, it has "country" ties and such, but people from true southern states have never considered MO southern, and never considered me "one of them".

Having also lived in the South, in more than one of their true cities (in Louisiana, South Carolina), StL is definitely not a city I can see as being a "southern" city.

No high temperatures in the 90s at all here so far and lows have mainly been in the 50s. It was in the 60s at noon today. My kind of Summer weather!
