On LI we got hit more than the Tampa area. I am more inland in Lutz. Not really concerned about it. My biggest fear are the trees. I worked hurricane Sandy and that was frightening watching all those trees fall. In fact we lost a number of people to falling trees.

Flooding will be a major issue in a lot of areas even if hit by a cat1-2. I can't imagine what would happen with a more powerful storm.

I went through Fran in Raleigh years ago and that storm caused major damage. It was only a cat 1, IIRC, by the time it hit Raleigh about 150 miles inland from where it made landfall. There were downed trees across just about every road.

Irma hasn't made it this far north yet, so this is an inaccurate statement.

Looks like the pathway is E. Hillsborough County, perhaps even Polk County they say, and not Tampa.

Really a need for another thread to discuss Irma, especially a Zombie thread from 2007?
