Give me a break - an hour "lost"! I guess flying to (let's say) TX next door is a huge deal to you! A whole hour difference! OMG!

I understand not liking DST, but your "argument" is totally ridiculous!

That may be, but getting six hours rest and going to work is no fun. To me, that is a downside of DST, and generally (when I lived in DST states) it took a couple days to "recover" from "springing forward". If you find it to be no big deal--good for you. But, please, don't project your experiences on me.

And it does take me a couple days to adjust to the time change when I travel to Dallas, and a couple days to readjust when I return.

Are you talking about the "significance" of losing 1!!! hour of sleep once a year or every night? Because after the conversation I had with azhiker yesterday I don't know what to expect anymore...

I never liked the time change. I always thought it was unreasonable to change clocks back an hour in fall. Because, at least here, when the time changes you come home from work in the dark. I think they should just keep it on DST all year.

As I understand it, it is supose to save energy changing to DST. But when you change back you turn the lights an hour earlier.

I say just keep it a DST and change the GMT here and be done with it..

I agree, and for the same reason. I like it to get dark later, particularly in the winter.

"Who knows? He may think he'll lose an hour of sleep every night!"

Seriously? I really don't appreciate your comments. What you've said in response to my posts has been rude.

You may look down your long nose and think I'm stupid. I don't really care. After all, I'm thinking some things about you that is not so nice right now and would get deleted by the mods.

Like I said, in your experince losing one hour of sleep may be no big deal. For me, it takes two or three days to get back to normal after losing one hour of sleep. That's my experience. And my expeience is of no less value than yours (even if you think it is).

One of the things I didn't like about falling back was that when the kids got the school bus at 6:23 a.m. it was dark, and when they came home from school at 4:48 p.m., it was dark. Since we were so rural, the bus ride was over an hour and some of the young elementary kids went to and came home from school in the dark for a couple of months in the winter. I thought that was dangerous. It also meant that a lot of parents were in their cars, with the engines running and the headlights on, dropping off or picking up the kids, and that seemed to defeat the reasons for saving energy. Also, a lot of other countries have DST as well. It's not just us.
