PBS also has lots of their shows on their website for online viewing for a long time after they originally air.

I read recently that a new series of Downton Abbey is to be shown here in early autumn
which I take to mean September on sunday nights. It is set in 1916 during the first world
war. It was a bit of a shot in the dark by ITV. This sort of period drama is normally made by
the BBC. It has been such a big success around the world, which I don't think they
expected. This new series will probably be longer than the original now they know they have
a success on their hands, and I should think an even bigger budget.

I checked PBS's website and it shows that they will be re-running Season 1 starting Dec. 18th. Then according to this article, season 2 will start in January. I, for one, am so looking forward to it. The first season was so short and left so much hanging.

If anyone has Netflix, you can stream Downton Abbey in its unedited version. For whatever reason PBS chopped up and edited the series to fit into the Masterpiece time slot.

I have a wonderful friend in the UK who sometimes sends me DVD's of British TV shows. She sent me Porterhouse Blue. It's the funniest thing I have evere seen on TV.

Porterhouse Blue - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Netflix has it to rent. I highly suggest it for those who enjoy Downton Abbey or any of the other well-done British shows.

I just finished the first disc of Upstairs, Downstairs and I love it. Very much like Downton Abbey. Any other suggestions for miniseries kinda like those two?

I didn't like that show so much. I couldn't connect with the story like I did Downton Abbey and Upstairs, Downstairs.
