I don't think it is nearly as good as Dragon's Den. DD was more honest about the whole process. ST uses the typical reality show editing tricks to manufacture drama.

I agree BS13690- I think there are too many "here is the entrepreneur at home, human interest story, aren't they nice!". I also noticed that in Dragons Den, there are far fewer deals. In Shark Tank, almost everyone seems to at least be offered a deal.

I just started watching, only caught the last two shows, but I'm hooked. I have not seen that many people get deals. But the broom guy situation was fascinating. At one point there were four people fighting over him. Very cool show.

I have no way to compare it to the British show because I've never seen it. American reality shows are all about the drama. True.

But they had that broom guy scared to death.

The maternity dress lady had a sweet deal from a nice lady that could have helped her. She was an idiot. But when the investors start acting like sharks, like they did with broom guy, it makes you wonder who will give you the best deal. That can be scary. I hope these people are able to research these investors before going on this show, and know what they are truly getting into.

Moderator cut: see comment I so love this show and want to hear what others think. Last night was so good, the couple with the baking stuff were great, the guy with the tech vest was such a jerk it was funny. Who else is watching?

BTW I also so want to be one of those entrepreneurs!! But no idea where to start. I have ideas but that's about it.

Thanks for reviving this thread Claud - I hope others join in. I missed last night's show and only catch it now and then. Each episode I've seen has been pretty interesting and entertaining. I like the small grey haired man. I can't stand the real estate woman when she's on The Today Show (or was some years ago) but she has some good insights on Shark Tank. Personally, I enjoy seeing some back story. There definitely are some clever/wacky inventors out there - and clever/determined entrepreneurs.

Last night's show was a hoot. The "kiss" scene was soooooo funny. And the guy with the dirt/manure business looking to expand his business ventures was also funny and a likeable guy too.
Yes the tech guy with the vest invention kept shooting himself in the foot. He's going to have some serious problems with his condescending smart aleck attitude. And if he was to be believeable about borrowing the $500,000 I don't know. He already claimed to have a 12 million dollar profitable business, why not borrow from that venture. I just couldn't see why anyone would want to make a poor choice to invest with him under those circumstances. I think he was a scambag wanting to lose someone else's money instead of his.
I like the Shark tank, there's some good ideas that come out of the show.

My husband and I love this show. On last nights episode though, the guy with the Tech-Clothing (I can't remember the brand) was a total jerk though! I couldn't believe his attitude.

I know right!!

Why didn't he simply go to Steve Wozniak for the money?????? Since he's such good buddies with him.

Here's a good question for all of you who watch: which of the investors would you like to work with the most, if you had a product that is. For me it's either Mark Cuban (I always agree with what he says) or that QVC woman who's on there sometimes instead of Barbara.

Also who would you least want to work with? For me it's that tool Kevin. Way too pompous and only cares about money. I mean, they all care about money obviously, but he is way over the top.
