In the books, I believe Melissandre "birthed" a second shadow that snuck into a heavily guarded castle on the water and allowed another one of Robert's bastards to be kidnapped. They never showed that scene in the show so I guess they had to have her take Gendry instead so she can use his "king's blood".
I'm pretty sure the old maestre of Winterfell told Bran and Rickon to split up after Winterfell was burnt but I can't remember where Rickon went or if there have been any updates on him.
Yeah i really cant remember either and i have read the books 3 times. Im sure if he would have remembered if he had his own sub plot . Or maybe not lol
Another great episode last night, except for the Theon scenes. As much as I feel bad about his situation, I really can't stand his sniveling character. Is he ever going to be killed?
The way you guys are talking about 'the Red Wedding', it makes me really anticipate it. I just hope the season won't end with 'Red Wedding' as cliff hanger. Do you know how many episodes of GOT are left this season?
By the way... True Blood's sneak peak last night was awesome.. at least I have that after GOT

I believe there are 5 more.
Good episode, especially the Wall Climb sequences. But no Dragon anywhere. It seems like an 8K
marching army is a significant factor that should be reported on. Come on HBO, we need more
dragon time in the shows.......
Jon Snow and Ygritte both climbed the wall but they weren't part of the hunk coming off and nobody cut them loose, so HBO played that up a bit. But great scene and you really did feel how high it was.
In the books didn't Joffrey torture some prostitutes? I don't remember arrows, but it's one way of explaining it.
Didn't quite understand what Sansa was crying about at the end? Loras was gay and she does not end up marrying him. Sword swoller had us rolling last night
And the whole red witch/Gendry/Aria scenes totally had me confused. But all in all, another good show. I'm still hoping it doesn't end with the Red Wedding but with Joffrey's
I really enjoyed the episode, and the divergence from the books doesn't bother me anymore--I'm actually hoping for some "fanfiction" type rewrite!
Sansa is crying because in the scene that ended with Tyrion looking very serious and saying that he has bad news we're supposed to conclude that after the fade-out he told her she isn't marrying Loras, but himself. Another of her romantic illusions that's coming off in chunks, like the Wall...
I agree, Melissandre (I've given up on checking spellings ) capturing Gendry is one of those plot simplifications that the show does, because they haven't introduced another of Robert's bastards. It may get complicated!

If I'm not mistaken, there were scenes in Season 2 where Joffrey showed his sadistic side when it came to masochism and all of that. I think he even killed a prostitute, but I can't remember for sure.
I also think Sansa was crying b/c yeah, Tyrion told her about the plan and her looking at the ship was the writer's way of her realizing/crying that her freedom was drifting away as well.
And to answer another posters' question, there's 4 episodes left, 10 episodes total. I was told by someone who read the book that Episode 9 will be the episode to watch but I'm not sure if he knows something, or read the spoilers, etc.
