WARNING!! Double check your TiVos and DVRs, and make sure Wednesday night's episode, Persona non grata, is set to record.

For some unknown reason, many cable systems are not recording the proper episode this week. I know for me, both DirecTV and Comcast Houston (via TiVo) were NOT set to record. Lot of buzz about this online.

It was set to record some 30 minute show at 5am (labeled The Americans), not the usual Wed evening hour long episode. And this is the season finale, you really don't want to miss it!

Yes ^^^
I have Dish, and the recording says its Persona Non Grata
But the recorded show is actually a 24 minute infomercial.

I saw this on Facebook. My husband earlier said there was some 30 minute Americans recorded earlier today, which we thought was weird but didn't think much of it. I watched it live (and oh it was so good) but my husband was asleep. Our Tivo was not recording the episode. Thank goodness I checked, so I was able to set the 11:14 rebroadcast.

It would have been HORRIBLE to wake up tomorrow and find out it hadn't recorded!

I loved it!

I wasn't clear on exactly why Oleg put in for the transfer back to Moscow. Certainly not for his mother, was it?

I can't remember the details of Phillip's son -- wasn't his mother also a KGB agent? Do we know why she was arrested? I don't understand how he will get out of the country and go search for Phillip, but maybe that will all be explained.

It certainly will complicate things. I would not be surprised if Phillip and his wife split up with her heading back to the homeland at the end of the series.

I don't remember what happened with Philip's ex who was the mother of his son. They met in a previous season, she told him he has a son fighting in Afghanistan, and they hooked up. I don't remember her getting arrested. Does anyone else?

When I was listening last night I thought I heard the grandfather say that before the mother was arrested she had given him the package of money. However, a little later in the conversation I wondered I had misheard because it seemed like she had escaped before being arrested.

There were a couple of other things that confused me in that episode as well:

- why did Philip have the discussion with Paige about her boyfriend before making decision to stay and face possible prison or flee? That like having a discussion about vacuuming when one's house may be burning. The discussion was pointless if they fled.

- why the repeated shots of Elisabeth at the window?
