With the invention of armed drones, we don't even need actual soldiers in the streets to enforce martial law.

I only have 1 episode left in season 1. i also read the book. i have a few questions -

- what are we supposed to believe happened to all of the men? i realize we know what happened to luke because he escaped, but what about all the other men who didn't become commanders?

- how much time are we supposed to believe has passed since she last saw luke?

- whey are there only rougly 20 handmaids? is that just in their specific town/city? are there others throughout the country?

- i feel like the waterfred hates the way things are and it seems like a lot of them do considering they go to the jezebels place to "disobey", but wasn't waterfred the one who had the most pull in establishing things the way they are now? why did he do it if he hates the way things are?

sorry if these have been discussed, i'm late to the game here !

Yep. Judging by the trailer, Season 2 looks even more intense than Season 1. I'm going to have to binge the first season for a refresher.

They show about 40, like when they had the stoning in the last episode, only a group of them. I assume we r to believe there are more in other communities though right? That was my question.

You'll see. Some of your questions, you aren't supposed to know yet! But yes, they are everywhere. (In Gilead, that is, the whole world is not like this, just what used to be America).

Just finished binge watching Season 1 and I'm hooked! Never read the book though, but I did read that Season 2 is completely new, in that Season 1 ends where the book ends, is that right?

I'm a Netflix girl so I'm a little sad that Hulu releases the episodes one at a time, but I guess that just helps with the anticipation.

Yes, even season 1 went places the book didn't. We see more of Gilead. The book only had Offred's POV. I'm excited and scared for season 2.
