In The Big Bang Theory, Georgie owned a chain of tire stores.
On Young Sheldon, they showed how Georgie discovered that he had magical powers finding holes in flat tires. He got a job at Herschel's garage, which presumably led to Georgie's career in tires.
But Billy Gardell left the show to pursue Abishola, and Georgie lost his tire job. So Georgie got a new job with Dale's sporting goods, tying him to the Dale and Connie story line. Somehow he needs to get back to tires.
Which all goes to show that the audience needs to be flexible. Not all Big Band story lines are going to fall neatly into place on Young Sheldon.

You make a good point.
Let's take "Young Sheldon". Annie Pott's character is a grandmother, and therefore nearing the end of her life. The father is supposed to die soon. The problem is that those are the two characters who provide balance to the other wackies on the show. Take them away...not so sure I could tolerate the show without them. If that doesn't match up with what we learned in TBBT...who cares? It's a fictional sitcom.
One bit of fun fact: The East Texas accents on this show are spectacularly good for TV --- for the most part. The main cast members are nailing it. Zoe Perry (mom), Annie Potts (Mee Maw), and Montana Jordan (big brother) are spot-on perfect.
The only one whose accent is cringingly bad is Jason Alexander. His accent sounds like generic Southern by way of Woody Allen. So bad it hurts. The writers should have just had his character be from somewhere else.

I'm not sure that YS has Mr. Lundy as a TX native? He seems to like Tennessee Williams so maybe the generic southern accent is an homage to the playwright.

Sheldon’s MeeMaw makes an appearance on Big Bang so Annie Potts character is safe.
Keep in mind that Annie Potts' MeeMaw is 20-25 years younger than June Squibb's MeeMaw in BBT. A lot can change in a "person" in that time frame.
But this brings up an interesting point -- I see no consistency between Mee Maw in Young Sheldon and Mee Maw in TBBT. None. Just like I don't see the consistency in speech and mannerisms between Sheldon's mother in the two shows ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s98fD6ILORo).

Its usually easy enough to spot inconsistencies and plot holes in 90 minutes movies , now we are talking about a sitcom and its spinoff heading into its 15th seasons.
The writers need some leeway here trying to go back in time 20-25 years with a whole new set of actors .
