Its usually easy enough to spot inconsistencies and plot holes in 90 minutes movies , now we are talking about a sitcom and its spinoff heading into its 15th seasons.
The writers need some leeway here trying to go back in time 20-25 years with a whole new set of actors .
Actually, I agree. I am arguing against the idea that there has to be total coordination between the two shows.
Part of the tonal difference is the filming style. Big Bang Theory was multi-cam. They tend to be "funnier", since they have an audience and a laugh track.
Young Sheldon is a single cam sitcom. No audience, no laugh track, comes across as more "serious". It was the first single-cam sitcom Chuck Lorre had ever made.
Please note I put funnier and serious in quote marks. I'm trying to make it clear it's the impression of those two words, not necessarily the reality.
I'm still wondering why Missy and Sheldon share a bedroom especially now that she's in Jr. High. Seems like she'd want her own space by that age and let the brothers bunk together in their own room.

I can see no problem with twins doing that. Back in the day, siblings shared rooms until they left home.

I haven't seen the show in a while but are Jack and Diane still sharing a room on Blackish?

There are only so many rooms in the house.
