Although I watched Everybody Loves Raymond - looking back at both those shows now makes me realize that both couples were always lying to each other and the women both wore the pants in the family for the most part. Not a good marriage IMO.
I never got into Everybody loves Raymond. Watched a couple of episodes and stopped. King of Queens was funny. Jerry Stiller was funny and helped the show.
A couple of episodes that I liked were the one where he had Lou help him and Carrie exercise in their garage. Doug didn't want to work out and Lou wanted to play video games. Also the one where Carrie cut her hair for money was funny as well.
Wow, I really like both shows for different reasons. I guess I probably lean more in the direction of King of Queens though because ALL the characters (not just the husband) are flawed in their own ways and that seems more realistic to me.
Everybody Loves Raymond - there's funny moments, the Dad was so funny, however, the show overall wasn't that funny. The wife was mad all the time, Ray was sweet but too much of a mamas boy, just couldn't stand the mother.
Recently watched Everybody Loves Raymond - The whole family goes to Italy, part 1 & 2. This would be my favorite of the series.
Loved seeing all the beautiful sites in Italy. There was more of a natural feeling among the actors, they were much more relaxed and happy. I'm sure being in Italy gave all of them a little happiness.
Just happen to watch part of ELR, it's the episode where Raymond and Debra are talking with the school teacher.
Great scene for Debra, she's goes in to how difficult it is having his parents right next door, and how messed up the entire family is. She's really upset and emotional explaining their lives to the school teacher. Probably her best acting scene in the series.
