I saw the clips on youtube.com. This show might actually be good. I was more than a little skeptical of this show at first, but now I can't wait to see it.
In the previews, the only two I recognized were Miguel Ferrer and the actress who plays Starbuck on the new Battlestar Galactica. The Bionic Woman herself I'd never seen before. She was quite good in the clips I saw though.

The new "Jaime Sommers" will be played by Michelle Ryan.
The Bionic Woman (original series) is my all-time favorite television show, so I'm interested in seeing how they do it. I just hope they make sure the new Jaime has a warm heart and personality, such as was portrayed by Lindsay Wagner. I also don't want to see this turn into something where she's constantly doing martial arts when on missions. It would kinda defeat the purpose of being bionic.

The previews look good. It'll have me tuning in for the first episode anyway.
Though I have to admit I'll miss the ek-ek-ek-ek-ek-ek-ek bionic sound-effects.

Boy, we're all showing our age, aren't we? I was about 10 when Jaime first appeared on The Six Million Dollar Man. I was so sad when Jaime first rejected her bionics and died, and then lost her memories of Steve after they brought her back.
As for the "bionic sound", I've heard there will actually be a more subdued electronic sound - something that is a bit more refined, and barely detectable.

Well, in the preview I saw, her cybernetic "parts" were not robotic so much as nanotech. I think they called them "anthracites" or something the preview.

I think we'll have to see how the show has been updated. Will, her "boyfriend" (I presume), said her arm and legs were replaced, so that leads us to believe that the replacements were artificial in some way. There is a reference to her legs and arm being totally crushed, so I think it would be a bit hard to reconstruct them. Perhaps they are some sort of enhanced transplants from someone else, fortified with microscopic computers (in the same manner as Seven of Nine on Star Trek: Voyager) that give her super strength. (Yes, watching the preview again, they are called "anthrocites".) In such a case, I would imagine there probably would be no sound being produced - although the original "bionic sound" was just a theatrical effect to showcase when her bionics were being used. It's not as if they actually made that sound "in real life". Still, the lack of a sound, or perhaps a subdued sound, could be an allusion to the advancement in technology, which the directors might want to convey to the audience. In listening closely (through the music), it sounds like a "whoosh" when her bionics are employed, as if a knife is being swung through the air.
One thing's for sure, the old Jaime from the original series would have a bit of an advantage over nanotechnology, given her ability to cut her own finger and extract hot wires that could be used for various purposes. (Remember when she was on that plane which crashed on an island, and the doctor had to use some wires in her forefinger to cauterize a vein.) But I suppose that was also a disadvantage as well, considering her bionic units were capable of shorting out, ala the "Doomsday is Tomorrow" episode in which an automated door slammed down on her leg and shorted it out.
It's going to be interesting to see.

I'll check out the first episode anyway. Anyone know when the first show is?
