Many people have been spending less money the last few months because they do not go out or buy stuff like they normally would, and are getting by just fine on unemployment benefits.
After July there is a huge reason to get back to work. Big difference between $978 and $378 a week for a family of 5.

Oh great. Now they're going to mess around with the dates. It should be pretty clear that anyone who qualified and exhausted PEUC would automatically get EB. That doesn't make sense at all that they're using 5/1 as a date.

My year exhausted April 4 so I wouldn't qualify if I were in CT. For CA, they haven't listed any specific eligibility dates yet. I was feeling good thinking I will get EB but I guess I won't count on getting it. I literally just got my PEUC payments last week, so I will just feel grateful for that and not count on EB.

That's really ridiculous that 5/1 is CT's cut off. So basically they're only giving it to people who won't actually get the money until much later since they have to exhaust all other benefits first.

When my benefit year ends Aug 30 and I file a new claim, there would be no sufficient wages for a new claim to certify for remainder of EB, right ?
Every State is different for NY but you should still continue to receive the 13-Week "EB"/"Extended Benefits" (if/once they go into effect).

-- They just have to look at your Earnings first either; or otherwise try to calculate or do some kind of a "Test", if not File a New Claim first though; just to check that you are indeed not already eligible for any existing Regular UI Benefits once the Claim Benefit Year expires. That's all.

I will have claimed 7/5, 7/12, 7/19, 7/26, 8/2, 8/9, 8/16, 8/23, 8/30.. which is 9 weeks into EB then my Benefit Year End Date is expired.

How will I continue to collect the remainder of the 20 weeks of EB, granted that I am still unemployed?
File a new claim.

I was claiming the 13 weeks, year expired in the middle of claiming the 13 weeks. I had to file a new claim.

I wont have sufficient wages if I file a new claim tho, how can anyone in my position have sufficient wages if unemployed for nearly a year, did they use different base wage period?

EB will remain in place regardless of whether or not your BYE expires or not as long as you were placed on EB prior to you getting EB

================================================== =============

I keep writing in other people's threads should really create one with all the info I have been posting here and there.

It's weird because some States like CT want you to first Apply for it and others like Pennsylvania are doing it automatically

BTW, spoke to someone at NJ DOL this morning and she told me to just keep doing what I've been doing which is keep filing weekly -- So I hope it's just automatic.

Any Announcements in the Public Press from New Jersey or New York DOLs yet?

According to US DOL, one of the critera to receive EB is:

"no rights to regular UC with respect to any UC law of another state or Canada;"

What does this mean?

If I worked for ONE employer but in two states (one in NY and other in TX)

My history: NY employment and wages from 2017 thru Feb 2019
and TX employment and wages from Feb 2019 thru August 2019

My current claim which began in August 2019 is with NY and I exhausted both regular and PEUC

Does this mean that I am not eligible for EB since technically I can apply for unemployment in Texas?

Remember it is from the same employer just relocated
