Movement toward vote on unemployment extension slow but steady
Yesterday Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) threatened to hold a midnight vote to speed up bringing to the floor a final vote on pending unemployment extension legislation.
Reid didn't have to make good on his threat, and the procedural vote itself might not have to happen.
Apparently Reid's office said today that party leaders should be able to make agreements on the pending amendments to move the bill directly to a final floor vote, which is music to the ears of thousands and thousands of unemployed Americans in dire straits right now. [No timeline was specified by Reid's office.]
When she said voted I took it as in conference somewhere because it is obvious no vote was made on the floor.
But I just dont see how it can be an accurate story.
Wouldn't it be public knowledge by now in other media outlets?
You would think someone else would be reporting it. Unless it is true and nothing is being said until they ( the dems) are absolutely sure everyone is on the same page to avoid more embarrassment and outrage. Like I said before, people have tried calling Reids office this morning and the phone just keeps ringing.
I just confirmed that the podcast is a repeat of a podcast from 10/28/2009 5:00am
