If aliens really do exist and come to Earth, what do you think should happen to them? (light)

There's a lot of talk about weather aliens really exist, or if aliens can see us, and why or why not they don't announce themselves to everyone. But I have to wonder that if aliens were to actually exist and make it to this planet and announce themselves, what on Earth would we do with them? So just imagine this scenario for a moment? Would people embrace them? Would we make them our pets? Eat them? Tell them to take a hike and go back home? Or do some people want to mate with them and eventually marry them like they do with their sheep? (Haven't actually seen any recent news articles about anyone marrying their sheep, so don't ask me, please. )
Do they want to be best friends forever with them? Go drinking and shooting pool together?
Do they want them to have healing powers so they can heal us and our loved ones?
If aliens do exist and come to this Earth, what do people expect, or hope will happen once they are here?
You think it's going to be up to us? I disagree. A race advanced enough to get here would be far superior to us, and they would be calling the shots. Most experts I have seen discuss it feel they would not be friendly, but would come here with a purpose (to get slaves, resources, or the planet itself)
Assuming the defacto relationship is not one they (already) designed for their benefit, then I believe we can look forward to much the same as has always happened here on this planet whenever any advanced culture intersects with a primitive one. Gains and losses, with most of the gains accruing for the advanced culture, because their priorities will always be held superior to ours.
But, my pet theory is, things are the way they are because they are already in control, we are just too naive to realize the "why" of our existence, and how it has always served their purpose...just a hunch.

That about sums it up. The only hope humanity would have if awareness and compassion have evolved at the rate of their technological advancement.

Unfortunately, that is the most likely scenario. My hope is that we will discover their Achilles heel before all is lost.
My advice, when they come walking up to us is to quick grab them around their necks and not let go until the cops get here. But probably others they have met along the way have also tried that so they are going to be more leery now. That is if we aren't their first stop. Stupid trusting aliens.

Did you try to grab them around their necks? If so, how slippery are they?

If they manage to find us,they have superior technology we do not have,so one would wish they just leave and never come back
We would be screwed as a human culture either way, even if they just took pictures and left forever.
A third of the people would want to devote all human resources to fighting them.
A third of the people would want to devote all human resources to worshipping them (aka studying or some other means of being totally devoted to them).
A third of the people would want to devote all human resources to running and hiding from them. Building underground bunkers and such.

That's probably true.
Even if they had no hostile purpose, they'd eff up human sociological development just by making an appearance.
