Trade/investment ties link Singapore and the UK. As has been noted before, Singapore is the UK's largest trading partner in South East Asia and its fourth largest investor.

There's obvious similarities between the UK and Singapore given its history. The cultural influence of the UK in Singapore remains large, including popular culture (music, film, sport etc).

If you take the top 10 music singles currently in Singapore (http://musicweekly.asia/charts/top-30-singles-singapore), half are by British artists.

If you take sport in Singapore, by far the most followed is football and the English Premier League:

As a Singaporean, i think American music is much more popular in Singapore compared to British music.

Of course Coldplay , One Direction is popular here.. But in general American acts are more popular

Still half of the music in the Singapore charts is British so it must be pretty popular there?

987 TOP 20 (23 MAY 2014) - 987FM on xinmsn Entertainment

Ok.. UK pop is popular here, but definitely not as much as American music
