Labour Party needs to find some Tony Blair type leader who can give speeches which might appeal to conservatives and big businesses. In fact Labour should stop being Labour / Socialist / Public Service / Unions. They should become Pro -Brexit. This is the only message this Elections have given to them.

You are right about the Socialist / Public Service / Unions bit but almost certainly wrong on Brexit.

If the polls are correct, they need to be anti Brexit like arguably the majority of the population still are today

The election was anti Corbyn / anti socialist and not Pro Brexit the way some believe, even if this was your personal reason to vote for Boris.

Keir Starmer made a few speeches during the Brexit debate and he came across very articulate, calm, and in control and appears to be the best amongst those who could be in the running to replace Corbyn.

The left are not supporting him at all, which is another reason why he would be the best option for a change of direction that is so desperately needed if Labour are every going to be a real option.

That's speculation.

Blyth valley didn't flip because of Corbyn.

A lot of the ones that flipped were very pro-Brexit.

That doesn't prove the election was all about Brexit, but it does cast doubt that the election was only a rejection of Corbyn.

Interesting article published Thursday in the Guardian about electoral reform of FPTP.

It certainly wasn't just about Corbyn, Labours left wing agenda goes against most peoples logic.

My point was that saying Labour should suddenly jump on the Brexit band wagon when 50 or more percent of the population are dead against it isn't the way to go.

Throwing out the idiotic thinking would be a better start in rebuilding their chances of being able to govern sometime in the future.

That's a far better explanation than your first attempt. Which implied what I responded to.

100% agree with you here

universities are liberal madrassas nowadays , its even worse in ireland and as for the media here , RTE makes the BBC look like Fox News

Looked at an article regarding UK/EU negotiations....

Looks like the EU will insist on freedom of movement into the UK in return for market access...the greater the access, the greater the movement.....

A small footnote ...

Last night the Brexit deal finally got through parliament.
Today is 7 years to the day since David Cameron's landmark speech at Bloomberg HQ in which he announced the referendum and called for reform of the EU so he could keep the UK in it.
