Would somebody please rep me? I don't mind what for, but I don't care for my rep points sitting at 666.

(Yes, of course I'm kidding.)

Blessings to all,

Mahrie.

Thanks guys!

I was only half-kidding. (I don't like that number.) I also don't like my thoughts lingering on the 'dark side.'

Lots of love and blessings to you,

Mahrie.
P.S. Eleven rep points! Good grief! Now I'll have to make some time this evening to write something good and attempt to deserve your generosity. You're the best!

What I can't stand about Vancouver is in addition to constantly pretending to compare with New York as if they have anything in common, it pretends to have a San Diego climate. I seriously don't know which is worse.

Enjoy spring in January? What exact did you smoke today?

Today it is 6-8C with light rain in Vancouver, is it supposed to be Spring? Yes it is miles better than the -11C with a snowstorm here in Toronto, but spring in January? And looking at accuweather.com, Vancouver has about 7 days in Feb when the high exceeds 10C, 4 days with some sunshine, the rest either raining or very cloudy, is that supposed to be "enjoying spring"?

Vancouver may not have brutally cold winter, but gosh, don't people play it to the maximum as if it is Canada's San Diego? Vancouver doesn't have good weather AT ALL. If you call 9C with rain spring, I feel so sorry for the Vancouverites.

Los Angeles is 23C with sunshine today. That is spring (or what Vancouver calls the peak of summer?)

Record amount of senseless drivel in a single sentence!!! Congratulation!

The "Vancouverites don't count pennies" statement alone should take the BS award.

I don't think he mentioned that when it rains - it rains pixie dust

I concur!

When we first moved 'out west,' decades ago, I used to busk for extra cash since we needed it at the time.

In Toronto, I'd earn $150+ in a couple of hours, playing guitar and singing at Queen Street subway station, near Eatons - putting on a mini-concert. Some people used to stay for half an hour or more just to listen, so I wasn't moved along by the local authorities. I did this three times a week for months.

Then we moved to Vancouver.

In Vancouver, I made $30, but the people still stayed. Amazing! (I didn't though; I moved to Whistler when it was still a sleepy little mountain town. MUCH better! (Not that I busked there. It's not allowed.)

When my daughter was fundraising in Vancouver, oh, about ten years ago now, the contributions were pitiful, particularly since West Vancouver has the greatest wealth per capita in Canada.

I hate to be negative, but the truth is the truth. Torontonians GIVE more, period, end of sentence.

And I'm as unbiased as one can get. I'm from Glasgow - and they GIVE too. (Just ask Donovan.)

FWIW,

Mahrie.

Oh now you are just too cool for school.....

I'm happy to report that area is still alive and well with street performances and eccentric personalities all the time...
