Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, Moorpark Thousand Oaks?
Where would you or wouldnt you want to live in narrowing it down to these 5 lovely towns ? Your reasons.

I hear To gets hot so leaning away from that.

It depends.

Where is the job? If the job is east of Woodland Hills then you probably don't want to live west of Camarillo.

Thousand Oaks is pretty, has good schools, and is well planned out. It is a little far from jobs at Port Hueneme or Point Mugu but the traffic heading that way isn't too bad (at least it wasn't when I was doing that commute in 1997). It's also commutable to the west valley for a job there.

Having just had my car breakdown in front of a 50's looking trailer park called Ave Trailer Town at 251 Ventura Ave., I saw a half-dozen crack deals go down (?assuming crack when people hand over $5 bills for tiny baggies that for in the palms of their hands) over the course of 30-40 minutes while I waited for AAA. Rough area to say the least. My tow truck guy told me it is the "skid row" of Ventura & mentioned that the Hells Angels headquarters is nearby as well. People going in & out of trailer park were very kind though, so it's a mixed bag. Very close to water - but not a place I would want to be after dark and certainly not with children. Other areas are Ventura are lovely - every town has less than desirable areas and Ventura Ave is Ventura's.

The Avenue is not nice at all. For the record, the Hells Angels have moved on, here is where they were 65 South Fix Way, Ventura, CA, 93001 - Warehouse Property for Lease on LoopNet.com
