Like to stay at the resort and would like some night life, live bands would be great. Any ideas???

vter's right - Stowe may be your best bet, because you'll have a lot to do in the evenings, and the skiing is as good as any place. The later you come the better time you'll be likely to have...

Or here's an idea out of left field: if the nightlife is as important as the skiing, you could go to Bolton Valley. The skiing is fine if not nearly as spectacular as Stowe, Sugarbush, or Jay Peak ...which have much less night life (they do have the highest base elevation in the state, so the snow should be good) but Burlington (much better night-life than any ski area or ski town) is only a very easy 40 minutes...you'd save money too.

But Stowe's probably your best bet.

Depending on how big your plane is (that's so cool, by the way!), you can check out the Stowe/Morrisville Airport...not sure if they accept private planes, but it's worth looking into...

Heck, with a plane I'd fly to Quebec City and ski at Mont Ste Anne and Le Massif. You'd have the best skiing in the region and one of the most scenic little cities on the planet for apres ski and dinner...

I do this by car from VT occasionally and it's a little like going to Europe in the car.

I love Quebec City. If I wasn't comfortable & committed to Vermont, that region would be a close second relocation candidate for me.

Yes I was looking at Stowe/morrisville airport and that would be fine for my small 4 place Piper. Do you know if any of the resorts pick-up at the airport? Well I guess I will call.. Anyway Canada would be great except for all the hoops you have to jump thru when flying there and back.. Custums and such is a real pain and Canada charges for using there airspace... I will let you all know where I end up and how the trip goes..

I love Jay Peak too!

The nightlife might be a bit sleepy for Mark though...

What can I say? I'm a transplanted Southerner. I ski & snowshoe with the best of them, but freeze the entire time.
