If you read the thread I already answered your question. I said "poverty level or close".

Please read.

Thanks.

I suppose that answers my question, but does not answer the question of how you know, just by looking, whether a person is above or below poverty level. I often wonder how people who make less than we do, can afford nicer clothes, and nicer cars, and other stuff than us. We were at poverty level not long ago, but are now above it by a fair margin. We certainly didn't look poor when we were at that level. How do you do it?

The same way I know an old person when I see one. Its not like every old person looks exactly the same.. but patterns do exist and anyone with decent IQ will notice them. Of course there will be some poor people who don't look poor and some old people who don't look old. But patterns do exist. Again, patterns do exist.

Is not complicated.

No.. I'm not confused at all. You are choosing not to answer the question because the answer that you have is either untrue, makes you look ignorant or exposes you as a Bigot or worse. Either way you lose.

You can never judge a book by its cover. There is a guy that I know that drank beer, watched NASCAR, drove a Ford F250, owned a Harley, and was a rough looking dude that did not have a pot to pee in so to speak, or at least that is what one would assume.

The guy is my uncle who lives in 1.5 million dollar home, he was a very gifted and skilled electrician who became a very successful contractor.

Just because someone has a little dirt on his/her hands dont mean they're poor, 9 times out of 10 they probably have more then most of us.

I'll bet more patterns exist than you seem to be aware of. You seem to be talking about something more specific, but will not elaborate. That makes your original question too complicated to answer.

My original question is easy to answer. Can DC survive without the poor?

Poor = People at poverty level or close.

Very simple.

If all you want is a simple answer then that would be: No.

Well, just because I said the question is simple that doesn't automatically make the answer simple.

I think this thread would go smoother if you and others would stop jumping to conclusions.

We asked to clarify, but you leave us to draw our own conclusions. That's not our fault.
