The forecast for the rest of this week is sunny, sunny, sunny. Not humid either. Dry. Blue dome skies with no haze and crystal clear visibility. By early next week there's a chance of thunderstorms, which I look forward to.

Interestingly, the Midwest is forecast to have a big heat wave.

Wunderground Meteorologist Shaun Tanner : Holiday Weekend Heat Wave Set for Plains and Midwest | Weather Underground

South is too, but dunno how above average it is for them. My foreacast for the weekend is cooler than last weekend going by daytime highs. More humid, though. The very warm and humid weather (highs in the low 80s or high 70s with dewpoints in the low to mid 60s) should end by midweek and then become drier and more seasonable.

Actually I have 90+ forecast for several days if you go by Weatherundeground's BestForecast. One day of mid 80s if you go by NOAA.

Buxton did fairly well out of this recent taster of summer. 26°C (79°F) was recorded here, similar to other even further north west stations at similar altitudes, so, one of the warmest places in the country. Not too unusual in an easterly wind set up actually.

A nagging chilling beasterly wind caused temps to drop prematurely today, with a lot less humidity. The humidity on 23rd/24th was pleasant for me, it helped keep up the temps into the evening, which I enjoyed while on my job. Mild air feels much more friendly to me than horrible cold attacking air when it's dark. The GFS model has performed terribly throughout this, well underestimating temperatures as usual.

Looks like a change in store, will be back to average (i.e. back to crap) by June, but still promising signals lining into place for a repeat later on. Shame this can't go out with some thunderstorms. I miss those.

Looks like some pretty warm weather (although not quite considered hot) is finally coming this way, 85 F forecast for Saturday and Monday. Pretty surprised that we haven't had any hot weather yet. Highest it got was I believe 88 F on April 16.

Complete contrast today from yesterday's 47F and rain. Low humidity and 73F and blue blue skies with a few clouds.

It looks like a lot of interesting changes are happening. Parts of the States may be next, with the potential for extremely cool daytime highs in early June in Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee.

Some decent looking thunderclouds overhead now. Cells are moving toward the SW with some isolated areas of extremely heavy rain. I've yet to hear any thunder myself though. Others in the area heard some yesterday.

Finally heard thunder and saw lightning a few times tonight with some light rain falling.

First time since 2010 I've heard thunder.

Dewpoint is 67°F. Highest so far of the year.

Feels comfortable and not that noticeable but I went for a short, leisurely bike ride around sunset and I felt a bit sticky. Great weather for nighttime walking.

I feel coolish because I have a fan on blowing on me, but when I turn it off it feels stuffy after a minute.
