Looks like yesterday there was some tornado damage in Newark, Delaware. Possible Tornado Hits Neighborhood | NBC 10 Philadelphia

Hits close to home just because it's so close to me.

yeah guys...Nice posts, thanks! Status quo is the word. GFS and Euro monthlies showing no summer like temps for a while. A few 80s might pop up a couple days but the pattern is getting clear. No torch yet. Seems like some of us forgot what normalcy is.

You're actually going to Seville? I checked the weather in the other Brit hotspots (though Seville isn't exactly a happening place with Brits?) along the Med, and they are nowhere near 100. Inland Andalucía and southern Castilla-La Mancha are roasting.

I'm starting to wonder if we'll get a repeat of June 2009. It's only one week, it's a bit premature.

1.45" of rain overnight and yesterday. And no tropical storm this time. Just a front? Thursday looks yuck, Wednesday just cloudy.

I'm thinking that as well. Normally we'd already have lots of days going into the 90s already, but it's been mostly 70s and the occasional low to mid 80s days. That summer the temperature barely got above 85 on any day down here, even in July.

I'll happily take this current pattern. No A/C needed. Just a ceiling fan. June 2012 was memorably pleasant for comfortable and dry weather. So far it's turning it to be more wet this month, but relatively comfortable. Just a tad warm and humid at times.

67 F/19 C and mostly cloudy at 9AM...fog starting to lift. Forecast high of 79 F/26 C.

Sunny now. 74.6F. But some more rain in the forecast. So far this month is reminding me of August 2011. A couple sunny days, then a couple days with downpours, and so on, with the rainy days bringing down the overall monthly average temperatures. Right now they're saying it'll only get to 72F on Thursday with another possible 0.4'' of rain. Normal high here is 82. The rain is also expected to affect play at the US Open (golf) at Merion (in Ardmore, PA) this weekend. Even if it's not raining the whole time, the recent rains will affect how the course plays. It would actually play to the advantage of most players since the greens and fairways will be slower.

Really? Here in Philly we don't normally have lots of 90F plus days in June.

It's only June 11th. We average 5.6 days in June above 90F based on 1981-2010 averages. We average 1.5 in May and .4 in April. If you pro rate June into a third of 5.6 days, we should have on average 3.9 days above 90F at this point (including April and May).

Here in Philly we have had one 90F day in June and 3 in May. So we are actually right about average. Also, the month of June is currently running 2.0F above normal here. In 2009 May was very cloudy if I remember right, and June ended up being only -1F below normal here.

I think we all have just gotten used to hotter summers.

58°F right now, forecast high of 65°F. Don't see highs above the low 70s for the rest of the week.
