102F now the forecast high for today. I know that isn't very noteworthy compared to the heat in the eastern 2/3 of the US but this may very well be the hottest day of the year.

Thunderstorms in the forecast today which means there won't be any thunderstorms.

This is a radar screenshot of all the massive storms working their way towards Buxton from the south:

Sweet FA as predicted by moi. I don't give a toss about what happens elsewhere in the country I WANT A STORM HERE so there better be some bloody big red echoes coming up over us this arvo or I'll scream the place down. I will keep this particular view on the radar all day but won't look at any other areas.

I heard thunder today - it rained for a minute then stopped. The storm went to the east of here, by like 2 miles. That ALWAYS happens.

I knew nothing would occur today - I must be psychic.

There was a thunderstorm here the other night apparently but I was at damn work and missed it for the second time this year. What an Fing joke. At least you got a rumble of thunder today, more than what we have here.

I'm waiting for the storms to the SW to get within 20 miles of here or so then I'll try and chase them in the car. My success rate at doing that is 0% so far but there's always a first time. Of course they don't even look like they're going to get within that distance even so lame the situation is, and if they do they'll have died a death as usual. It seems to be changing direction, was going from SW - NE but now seems to be heading north and even NNW! WTF???

LOL at least you haven't had loads of really strong thunderstorms passing your area by like 20 miles in all directions.

The same has been happening here all week. It happens in the winter too, all the snow showers go to the east and west of me and when i say they are close they are like 0.5 miles away.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

EDIT: massive storms heading over from scotland. They will probably break up over the sea.

When I leave for work ther'll be a massive thunderstorm here of course and not at work, happens every time.

Looking at the netweather radar none of these "storms" actually look very good at all, just weak thundery showers more than anything. There isn't enough wind shear in the atmosphere to produce long lived organised thunderstorms today. So I am probably not missing much. OIf course the usual tards on netweather will be over exagerating everything saying "OMG WHOA LOUDIEST THUNDER EVER CONTINUOUS LIGHTNING AND MASSIVE HAIL AND 200MPH WINDS OMG 2000MM/HR RAINFALL RATES !!!!!!!!!1111111111111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Well the Peak District Pennine Tin-Opener is getting ready to shred the storms coming up from the south...

I just want a 10 minute thundery shower, I'll take anything at this stage. We are stuck in a large dry area and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon. The best storms as usual will head for Lincolnshire as always.

We had lots of small thunderstorms here back in April but I literally can't think of a single one since then despite the number of showers we've had.
