What about Matsue?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matsue#Climate

It gets mad snow (46 inches), but only 3.5 inches in March and absolutely zilch in April and May

Not four season at all. It does snow, but it's too warm, so the ground is always dirty. It's a unusual feature.

Asahikawa is better: reliable cold.

Yeah Matsue sucks. 7C with slush all over the place is wintry? And then it warms up way too quickly in spring.

Asahikawa is much better.

Matsue? Sure, it's just not stereotypical. How does it get "mad" snow with those overnight lows?

46 inches is mad snow! NYC gets 25 on average, altho it feels like it's more like 250 if you've spent time in the city the past couple of winters lol

There is ranges but how I personally define 'four seasons' is this:

Winter months must average out to get as cold as the mid 50Fs at least. That is still mild for me, since my winters are mid-upper 30Fs-ish on average. Otherwise it is just too warm/mild to be called 'winter.' The temps may cool down but that's about it. Even in Dallol winter is 98 degrees instead of 115ish lmao.

Also summers will be muggy/hot more uncomfortable than probably more temperate climates and about 5-10 degrees hotter - but the variation is more interesting to me than being comfortable with the weather all the time. I hear people from Florida/California complain about Michigan's weather all the time... but eh I'm just not too fond with nice weather 24/7 I guess I'm backwards. It seems like some people like to complain when weather isn't like perfect- but perfect is boring... like the teenage girl always wanting the jerk and not the nice boy. Hehe.

I think I'm being fair with this (but granted I realize just because I think I'm being fair and accurate doesn't mean I am) - but it is my own bias, because I mean to a lot of people- winter is the stereotypical image of lots of snow, ice, cold-ish weather but in reality a lot of places only get moderate snowfall or they get too much that it stops being fun.

Also the hours of sunlight is a huge factor- not just the temperature- but temp also plays a part into it. Its human nature to think of weather/seasons in only in terms of temperature, I have a bad habit of this as well....

If Turpan had more precipitation.. it would be the perfect classic 4 season climate that everyone would like. Heck this is one continental climate I don't even hate all that much.

What about KC? Colder than NYC in December and January, you can't tell me that's not a real winter
