I've been driven thru St. Louis area a number of times in the fall.
Along interstate 44 just west of the city is nice heavily treed rolling hill country,
....it's not as good as fall in New England but still quite good.

Iceland....not too many trees and what trees they have seem scrawny to me.

So does Reykjavik not have a fall? Where does fall end where you go north?

It has a fall, the trees change colour. But looking on Google images, the displays in Reykjavik are weak.

I assume you've never been to Iceland, otherwise you wouldn't ask.

Iceland is completely treeless in its nature state due to erosion. They've planted trees, especially in the cities, but they are mostly conifers, the countryside is just pasture grassland. Some deciduous trees are planted, mostly birch and maple which are able to grow during the weak summers. But the fall colors are stunted.

Why did you ask? St. Louis most def.

Even if they did have lots of deciduous trees in Reykjavik, with their autumn storms any dead/dying leaves would get blown off before they could give much of a good show anyway.

Never been to Iceland but I wouldn't mind visiting one day. I thought they had trees but they were smaller.
