True, probably did occur in a rain shower. Death Valley has had several 100+ nights in the past too.

School is set to open tomorrow, but there will be a 2 hour late start to allow time for walkways and streets to at least be removed of some snow. Interstate Highways won't really be useable until Sept. 11th though, as it is piled with snow and hard to remove since it's below the regular streets.

Some suburban and rural areas could get as much as 35" of snow.
