Yeah, anything that can fix North America's geography. It is an epic fail.

Look at all the poor people in the Midwest and the Northeast who have to deal with subzero blizzard conditions. It is because the Polar Vortex sank too far South, and why was it able to sink so far South? Because North America's geography sucks, and is an epic fail!

This thread is ridiculous North America's climate is fine its just like any other continent there's nothing crazy about its climate. If any place on earth get should get climate modified it should be areas of Africa where people have to travel miles for clean water not North America where the countries can afford to overcome natural disasters.

Its absurd to say the prairies of NA is extreme there are just continental climates, which are found in Eurasia and get much colder than North America. Imagine East Asia; monsoonal summers and very cold dry winters at least Eastern North America gets evenly distributed rainfall.

For tornados thats mad, sure but what about the large portions of Australia that is impractical for agriculture and the forest fires in the Australian bush during summer? Or even closer to home the floods in Britain coursing misery for thousands.

There is nothing wrong with North America's geography its geography its suppose to be studied not changed to suit our needs not like we need to anyway.

Not so much. This weather is fun. It would be boring if we never got blizzards and cold.

The northern parts of the East Coast (New York, Boston, Washington and Philadelphia) have a gloomy climate - hot wet summers and cold snowy winters. Not nice at all.

The southern parts (Charlotte, Atlanta and Savannah) have hot humid summers and relatively cool winters. Again, too much variation between summer and winter - not for me. Myrtle Beach is alright though, if not a little hot and humid.

The midwest (Chicago, Detroit, St Louis) is like the east coast, but more extreme. Hot humid summers, cold bitter winters - One of the worst climates in the world IMO.

The central-south (Dallas, Houston and Austin) at least have mild winters, but their summers are disgusting. Too bad.

The far-south east (Miama, Tampa and Orlando) are just too tropical for my taste - Overall hot and humid, despite a slight relief in the winter.

The northwest (Seattle and Portland) are overall better than the above due to their mildly warm summers and mildly cool winters, but their winters are still too cool and the climate is overall cloudy.

Only a small portion of America has the perfect climate for me - that is far west, or the south west coast - Los Angeles, San Diego (excluding San Francisco).
If you think we are gloomy god only knows how you would describe NW Europe.

The entire area from the Midwest to the Northeast, and even locations in the delicate South is at risk of experiencing sub-zero temperatures. There are huge blizzards occurring right now as we speak, and so many flights are cancelled, and roads are shut down too.

These kinds of things would not happen if North America had proper geography.

High of 8, low of 3 forecasted for my city just north of Nashville. Am I mad? NO! I hope we see below zero temperatures! That's excitement you won't get in a more moderate climate. Consistent weather would get boring after a while.

Ummm...No, we're good just as we are. North America's geography is exactly how its evolution intended it to be. North American geography does not suck and in no way is it experiencing an epic fail, it is just mother nature at her most wicked. Having said that, I can't believe I am even responding to such a silly post, and yet...here I am, responding to this silly post. On the other hand, what better way to pass the time during a brutal midwest winter's evening?

North America is part of the New World, so called because it was unknown to Europeans until comparatively recent times. From all parts of the world have come its people, bringing a heritage of ideas and skills that Stimulated its rapid development. North America is rich in mineral, water, and forest resources, and is a world center of agriculture and industry.

This isn't our first rodeo as they say, we will get over it, move on, move past it and look forward to the first day of spring and the chirp-chirp of the red breasted robin. Blizzards are a natrural occurence and as such it is inevitable that many flights will be cancelled because that's what happens with extreme weather such as this. Yes, roads will be shut down and on some of them that aren't there will be wrecks of tangled metal when trucks and cars collide, there may even be loss of life...and yet with heavy hearts, those of us who are left standing, we will go on.
