Oh yeah, that was one of the main reasons I wanted to veer away from them. Horrible. Also due to the limit. Site is way too slow. Imgur working well and quick... and I do the same. Just use Bitmap to crop & write then upload.

It feels like winter today in Ioannina. Pretty humid, wet with heavy rainfalls and thunderstorm and low clouds with 7 C. We had also snow at about >1000 m altitude in the prefecture of Ioannina. Very lovely day! Models show that on Friday we will have again heavy rainfalls with cooler temperatures and snow in mountainous areas.

Thanks. I wish it were so. For now long term forecasts are saying it's gonna be another warm one.

This doesn't look like Florida at all! Take away those small palms and it could easily be a heathland in western Europe.

That narrow, windy road was the biggest link between Nice and the rest of France not too long ago!

Similar forest further west, photo taken in summer. Where's the chaparral?!

Nice. Really neat subtropical look.

Parked my car at a train station just outside NYC. Near the station (on the New Haven line). Sunny, maybe slightly warmer than average day for this time of year (high of 50°F):

downstate NY has some foliage lingering around

Mostly bare. View from the train platform. Train was a few minutes late.

Outside the window somewhere in the Bronx. A lot of the spots by train tracks appeared to be warehouses and similar and relatively vacant.

Just about to cross into Manhattan. Grattitude:

In Manhattan:

Feels strange to be inside Grand Central without a bicycle:

Getting outside:

Think this view from almost 100 years ago was taken from the other side. Tall buildings mean no sun in November with the low sun angle:

Annuals hanging in there:

Upper East Side near Central Park:

Now getting close to the Upper West Side

Fall colors left. Isn't the urban heat island awesome?

Upper West Side. Lots of window air conditioners left

Floats for today's parade.

Grass had thick frost and for good amount of time too. Even with sun and to like 9am.

Here was my car from the inside. Thick ice and less in back window. Which was facing north. Strange.

That is probably the native vegetation. The coco palms you see on the coastline areas are not native. I always thought of FL inland as very scrublike with smallish trees, pine trees, and that palmy underbrush like sabal minors and palmettos. At least that is what you see when you drive on inland roads.
