I need my space. The main thing was my own kitchen.

Lol I've never said I see my friends without alcohol! It's just one of the activities to do with them

I happily watch tv/play xbox etc with them
Take away the booze and that's precisely what you're doing.

Meh, Owen is just a person who values his privacy and personal space. Not everyone wants to be around people 24/7. Some people prefer being alone.

Actually I don't really like it. I find it quite lonely sometimes.

Yeah but I don't sit in a quiet room when I'm drinking either, I don't see the problem with labelling drinking with friends as a social activity? In my opinion it enhances atmosphere and conversation, though obviously I'm not drinking all the time, maybe a few times a week and even then just a few beers (apart from nights out) Also I like the taste of beer

I value my privacy too, I often spend an evening just sitting in my room watching TV or browsing the Internet, but I couldn't do it to the extent that he does

You know why! They spend their money on drinking!!!

It's my money and I can do whatever I want with it. I spent £4,000 last year on my holiday, could've bought a car or a louis vuitton but I didn't because I love travelling so much.
Because many people that have jobs have to pay for rent/mortgage plus all bills including council tax, travel expenses etc... You don't pay for jack sh*t, your parents pay for you to live in an a flat all by yourself & then give you an absurd amount of money to live on too!

Most students have to pay for things that you don't, they don't pi** all their money away, THEY have to pay for their accomodation bills etc THEMSELVES

Bloody hell, one day you will live in the real world...

Tbh I do live in the real world. I don't come from a wealthy family!

Anyway, what's wrong with that anyway? I don't see how it's an awful lot? It doesn't last very long by the time I book my flights, pay for shopping and my top up. It's just enough for me to pay my bills and that's it.

Sorry but it's really easy to earn more than that working in McDonalds. You're exaggerating. And actually i've been looking for jobs but I've been finding it hard to fit in the time with my exams etc.
