Speaking of spiders (a few posts back), there has been outbreak of Golden Orb spiders at Ruby Bay (just down the road). Some pretty spectacular webs. No one is too worried, as they are expected to die out during the winter -like a lot of Aussies, they can't handle the cold.

In the park I go run in, there's these really huge spiders from August-October and I'm not sure what they're called. I find it odd that their most active season is late summer/early fall though.

Probably when the most food is around. Could be a type of Orb spider
The rain of the last two days, has driven lots of spiders inside. One of the kids found one in his shoe yesterday, that was about 3 inches across, and built like a brick s***house - even the dog was freaked out.

Could be, I notice this is when insects in general are at their worst.

The **** pumpout service here has gone up in price beacause the ****ing piece of **** council closed the local waste treatment facility and now the trucks have to go 20km away to the next one when they need to be emptied. ****en piece of **** council they flay us ridiculous fees and levies for everything with nothing in return. Yet another layer of thieving gubbermunt
Holy **** that happened to me before too! Although it wasn't covered in blood just a little streak lol. I kind of panicked because I do drink a lot and I know that blood when you poop could be a sign of liver damage, but it wasn't that serious.
That's surprising that there's no snakes in NZ. Here in urban Miami, there's not many snakes either, mostly garter snakes. It's a whole different ballpark in the Everglades though.
Mine was far heavier, bleeding for a good 2 days with blood stained PJ's and jocks. Another 2 days on it's getting much better. Problem is it's hard for it to heal because the ass crack environment is not exactly the best place for it to heal and that's before we take into account the regular volcanic eruption or lincoln log scraping against it...
