How do I get out of it ? Therapy didn't help me all that much.
Find something to enjoy to keep your mind away from it. Find good social interactions, and try not to act on self-pity feeling as much as you can with others.
I got hugged very few times as a child. At best, I'd hear the word "very good". If I ever end up married, I'm hoping my future wife will hug me at least a few times every year. But that's probably never gonna happen.
Tell me this, why am I expected to show love & compassion when everyone ignores or treats me badly ? Yes, I am weird and eccentric in comparison to most Americans and Europeans. But like everyone else, I too feel the need to be liked. Currently, the only person who likes me, is me. But people now criticize me of displaying a very selfish image
I agree somewhat. The only people I know who actually hug me out of love are my mother, father, and grandparents. In order to get a hug out of a non-relative, I often have to ask them. Even people I know well won't do it unless I ask.
What I mean is, if you're in a social situation and all you talk about is how sorry for yourself you feel and how much your life sucks, people will avoid you like the plague. Nobody wants to hear about that, all it does is bring other people down and kill the vibe.
I feel like I'm an ambivert, I hate parties/clubbing but I like doing chill things with my friends and I go crazy when there is no one around me. I would never be able to live on a farm or the country somewhere, I love being able to go outside and then be surrounded by people. I'm shy but I'm also a massive attention *****, I always try to be the center of attention. That's why I love acting, I get so much energy knowing that I'm the center of the action. It's not enough for me to be the center of one person's attention, I want EVERYONE to pay attention to me

Honestly though, at 20 and upwards it's not even that. Alot of people simply don't have the time (well they say that) or care in the world to socialise with new people.
Some people don't want any friends - weirdly. Also consider that it's difficult to find places where people are actively trying to make friends rather than just going to get something out of an activity e.g. a football club. I myself spent alot of time this year going to groups to make friends (and never did) only to discover that alot of people at the groups I went to were only there for a hobby to fill their time.
It's kinda cringy to be honest, a lot of people will look down on you if you don't particularly have a big social circle often assuming that you are a bad person or have a boring personality.

Yeah. I was happy last week to be receiving attention from people other than my parents and coworkers. Not sure how well that conveyed but I certainly wasn't complaining.
I have a hard time with women, I've only been on one date ever and never been in a proper relationship. apparently it is nothing to do with my looks but I still seem to have a hard time with them and it is difficult to talk to them.
Anyway Croatia beat Spain 2-1!!!!!
