When it gets that messy, it's better for the old snowpack to melt completely rather than remain a slushy, icy mess. Though a large new snowfall will bury the old snow.

Got this info from Bernie's video. Taught me something new about the "S"

Ice storm continues; Over a foot of snow Southwest New York - Trending Now - AccuWeather Videos

"in order to get the heaviest snow you need to smell the rain"

  • Storm was heading into Pittsburgh with South winds but that storm is weakening now and a new one is taking over East of I-81 in Virginia which means Pittsburgh winds shifted from the North and BAM changed to snow. They are going to thump away now for a couple of inches.

  • When you see an S like that on the Satellite/Infrared that's an indication the storm is strengthening. Typically the storm is right above the bottom curve. That's where the storm is taking place. interesting!

Storm Track.

Buffalo in for 6-12"!! Rochester maybe a foot!

And what happens when a strong storm comes near you?

Man, when I started seeing all the activity showing up 3 weeks ago I knew we would be on our toes this month. Wish it happened a month sooner but hey, better late then never.

Question now is.. will it continue into March??
