From a Ukrainian perspective, it is naturally easy to sympathize with smaller nations that are threatened by larger ones. E.g., Catalans, Basques, Galicians, Welsh, Irish, Estonians, Balts, etc. Notably, I'd include Dixie in all that - i.e., the culture and heritage (and nationhood, as it were) of the South.
Including a race based slave empire with those other examples is rather disgusting. Dixie dominated US politics until the Civil War. Every president just about was southern. Disgusting example you use there. Dixie deserved to be smacked down for starting a rebellion to keep slavery.

I have no beef with Southerners. Very few of them even owned slaves. In any case, this selective outrage is stupid. The Ottoman Empire, which was just praised in this thread, enslaved my people on a massive scale.
Tbh I kinda hope that Spain becomes a failed state, for what they did to the Jewish people as well as the Indigenous people in Latin America. Spain treated my people as if they were animals
Dude, you really need to get over your beef with Spain! You do realise that no one alive today (or for the last couple of hundred years) has anything to do with any of the bad things that happened? Besides plenty of countries have "colourful" pasts, but they are just that, in the past. In Europe we have had wars even in fairly recent times, but we move on. Your irrational hatred of an entire nation based on historic events is just stupid...
