I only had trouble seeing if I was going to stay on the road or not for about a half mile.
Thanks for posting the pics and the comments! Incredible storm.

Here's a closeup of the current radar for you... Looks like the back edge is near. Hang in there. Stopped snowing in Fargo now.

yeah, with those winds it's virtually impossible to accurately measure and you'll have a lot of drifting

6-12" of snow has fallen in some areas.
The worse is over. Can actually see the possibility of the remainder of the day being livable. When the wind dies down a little more I'll go take some "Still Pictures". So far no visible sign of any major damage.

Not even South Dakota Start Trooper vehicles are safe. Get chains on that thing.

Still can't get over the 60s and 70s on the East side of the storm with the return flow.

This is why I don't like Lake Cutters! But it sure is fun to be tracking this blizzard

All it takes is 6 hours in the right spot, with a storm like this, and you get a foot or more. WOW!! That's whiteout conditions for hours.

NWS Duluth

"Got a CoCoRaHS observer near Beauty Lake, MN with a snowfall total of 13.8" in the last 6 and a half hours!"

On the plus side I got video of these dogs that have been barking nonstop all day trying to figure out exactly what house it was, the guy had them out during the blizzard with snow and 35MPH winds in this small cage in his backyard which you wouldn't be able to see but the wind blew a door open to the larger fence that surrounds their backyard. With this kind of ammo I can take legal action.. nobody's going to side with a guy leaving his dogs in a small cage during a blizzard.

The term "blizzard" has been re-defined sometime in the past 30 years. "Blizzard" once actually required temps below 20 degrees F, sustained winds over 35 mph, and snowfall at a rate of 1" or more per hour, for at least 4 hours. I've noticed they have, in the process, dropped "Heavy Snow Watch/Warning." Not newsworthy enough?
