Wanna see what ruined the March colder than January stat? 5 days right there. 2 Highs in the mid 50s and night lows above norm. Ugh.
But nobody younger than 33yrs old experienced a March colder than February in many locations in the region ..... until now..... Its been over 3 decades
March 2017 was colder than February across many areas. It wasn't colder than January though but was close! Last few days ruined it! Bridgeport was colder than December though.
Not to forget a Top 10-20 snowiest March's on record as well.
That 82 stands out like a sore thumb! wow!! Wanna know why that happened that day alone?
lol Yeah it does stand out. It was the result of a low pressure system to out southwest that pumped warmth up here. Once it passed to our north and east, winds swung around from the north dropping temps dramatically.

March 2014 and 2015 were back to back record cold months in CT (and surrounding areas), something nobody had ever experienced before. Ever. Since "valid" records started.
And in many locations February 2015 was the coldest February ever recorded. (second coldest for the rest of the region)
The weather is weird up there.
Like how Boston had back to back record cold for March 2014 and 2015. (second and third coldest ever)
30s , cloudy, windy, late morning. IS IT OVER YET??????

Midday and it feels like freezing at lunchtime April 1st. Ridiculous. North winds and a storm over the ocean. 8-12" of new snow on the ground in VT, NH, and ME. January doesn't wanna end.
