Yup, 2 of last 6 days had sun for me here. and someone thought I meant record cold affects crops only. Plants need sun! and 80°+. Lets see if there will be some extra heat boost they get in August and September.
Just to be fair I'll say what I say in winter with the "red" maps, blue doesn't mean cold or "arctic"! Below normal/near normal/seasonably cool YES, but come on, it's not like its going to be freezing. lol
I agree. One season doesn't imply what another will do. but we can always look at the numbers for fun.
But what does "early end to summer" actually mean?? No more 80s? 90s? Sun? South flow? Nights above 65? No birds chirping for 2 weeks in August? Everyone will have their own criteria.
Lets just use the years August was below normal.
For Bridgeport: Out of 37 Years where August was below normal.
Winter ended up below normal 24 times.
Snowfall ended up above normal 23 times.
60-61%. Interesting.
No of course it won't be "cold" but below average at a time of the year where we need some summer heat (before it's too late), is very unwelcomed to me..
Way too early to think about what this winter will look like, but just for fun, Ben tweeted this out a few days ago. If this is the pattern come winter we might see SST warming and the return of the polar vortex
We shall see. This July might have lower average max temps than this June did here in southern Chicagoland
