I bet FL is dead and flat this winter unless something freaky goes down like last Jan. Last winter and spring sure threw me off.

Meh. These seasonal models are never that accurate anyway, especially not this early. The global oscillations (not just ENSO, but all of them put together - NAO/AO is at least as important), the persistent weather patterns heading into the winter, and past analogs are a better bet in my opinion. Of course we'll all have to wait and see; to say the least there's very little exact science involved in seasonal forecasting.

I know now has nothing to do with future but if any indication of what I'm seeing happening now is a sign of whats to come, I think I'll need more firewood.

Yeah, if we keep the pattern that's forecasted for late September and into October going straight through the whole winter most of us coldies would be sitting pretty. The Euro seasonal update suggests this, but take that with a big grain of salt of course.

I just wish everyone would get above normal snows. It's really only where the storms go. There isn't a storm every day or even every week for that matter so its hard for everyone to get involved. You know? Sucks one region has to benefit but another miss out.

Sometimes I wish there was a storm the size of the U.S and it was snowing in all locations.

Yeah, me too. I'd like to point out that a wetter and very active/stormy weather pattern with larger-scale storms (as does happen occasionally) goes a long way toward getting everyone a lot of snow, even if they can't get it simultaneously.

Goodbye Spring and Fall future. lol

Yeah, it looks to be a year of extremes as far as the transition seasons go.

September 2004 an SST analog for this September. I'd love a repeat of 2005, one of the best weather years in recent times. It had a cold winter followed by a hot, 2012-like, summer. Spring was non existent, though.

I hope people in the South and East Coast get ready for this winter. Latest modeling shows it to be an epic once

Not for FL. I am ready to eat my hat if we have a cooler than normal fall or winter and i hope i am eating lots of hats, cause i want a repeat of 2010 winter. We had a super warm fall of 09 and on Jan 1st 2010 it was highs in the 40's and 50's for 3 months.

Like i could sell my house and take a big loss, my house was worth 20k in 2010. We had plenty of days with 70's mixed in. But no 80's at all jamall. It was the CHANGE I LOVED. Warm, cold warm cold every 3 days that i loved. Like it would be all highs in the 50's and 40's every day for 3 months, that would never happen.
