Could get some heavy rain tomorrow. Models differ on how much. Forecast high of 65F.

Quote:
Widespread rains with embedded thunder are expected to continue
for much of the day, before beginning to ease from west to east
Friday night as the front slowly treks on to the east. Some rains
may linger into SAT across east and south central LA, but most
of the area should be dry by this point as the upper low begins to
accelerate off to the NE. How much rain falls over eastern areas
SAT will depend on the eventual evolution of the area of
disturbed weather/broad low over the SW Gulf, which is progged to
become absorbed by and lift NWD along the front.

In addition to this, there are some important differences among
the various global and high resolution models even on FRI,
yielding some uncertainty in terms of rainfall amounts and heavy
rainfall potential/placement at that time as well. Generally
speaking, from midnight tonight through noon SAT, a broad swath
of 2 to 4 inches is expected from generally the Golden Triangle to
Alexandria southward. Locally higher amounts are possible, which
could result in localized minor flooding.
Given relatively high
FFG values across the area (2-4"/1HR and 4-5"/6HR) and the
aforementioned uncertainty, chose to hold off on a watch at this
time.

Cooler and drier air moving in behind the front will persist until
at least mid week, with rain chances returning at that time as
another front is progged to push through the area.

Well we hit 83 before the cold front got to us, then it was raining heavy with thunder for around 1 hour, picked up 1", pretty nice but needed more. Now it's in the low 60's. 20 degree drop from the cold front. Front hasn't made it to San Antonio yet, it's 77 there. Tomorrow will top out in the low 60's then mid 40's tomorrow night. Will my local bar have the fire going? I hope so.

Impressive heat out west. LA at 90, San Francisco at 86, Sacramento at 89, and Phoenix was cooler than all of them at 85. This time of year Phoenix cools down from radiational cooling at night but the West Coast sees Santa Ana winds which bring dry air. It was 90F with 0F dewpoint in LA. That's ridiculously dry.

Great beach weather from SF all the way down to San Diego today. I predict the rainy season will be late in CA. It should be starting in N. CA by Nov 1 but it will be late this year. Maybe they'll get a nice system by Thanksgiving.

Lubbock...Bottom edge of the snow band. That's as far south as we'll see the snow fly with this one. Who knows when the next snow this far south with be. Snow there before Caribou Maine.

Well the next rain band came in, it's coming down extremely hard, creeks are rising rapidly. Now up to 1.6". At this rate we'll exceed 2" in 15 more minutes.
