Overcast today. Could have some snow tonight in the early morning hours but more likely changing over to rain well before daybreak. Then a cold and dry weekend in store with highs only in the 20s. But back up into the 40s by Tuesday and mid-50s by Wednesday. Normal high this time of year is around 40F.

CFSv2 going straight blow torch for the last week of February and first week of March. If the CFSv2 is showing this then the exact opposite should happen

Welcome to FL.

My wife is a Florida native and she has the worlds smallest comfortable temperature range. Under 70, too cold. Over 82, too hot. I'm originally from the UK, been in FL 16 years and now I'm cold in the 50's too . Climatization eventually reaches us all.

What this means for the end of winter and beginning of spring in North America: mild/warm/hot in lower 48; cold in Canada.

It brings back memories to me of when we reached our current winter record of 94F here back on August 2009. I still remember perfectly how oddly that day felt, like if the atmosphere was sabotaged by a cheat code. But just after that then September was a very below normal and cool month (it never got past 74F), so who knows if that's what is in store for California during the next month too.

I doubt it. Most long range models keep moisture flowing into the midwest albeit warm

After this upcoming week winter looks to be done...

SoCal winters are considerably warmer than those in Buenos Aires, so while this is pretty hot for Jan/Feb it's not outlandishly so. One can expect the occasional very warm period even in the winter months there. I know I've seen 80s there just after New Year's.
