Yeah I agree. We should see wintry conditions for the eastern 2/3rds for at least through the 20th. Beyond that though temps might moderate just in time for spring.

A couple above average days on Wednesday and Friday but mostly below average. Especially over the weekend. No major systems this week

An inverted trough this morning here. I had a little trace of snow that turned to rain this morning.

Weak storm off the Carolinas today.. 1013mb.

The path its gonna take is this... WASTED TRACK! lol. Should of been a snowstorm here.

Last Friday rain, today rain. Temps in the low 30s. What a waste.

Boring pattern.. No Cold, No Snow, No Storms.

Good read here.

West coast ridging turns February into a spring month

Who flipped the switch?

La Niña winters are typically known for ridging off of the west coast of North America, especially in late winter. However, La Niña is far from the only driver of seasonal weather. This year, the ridge axis has centered closer to the west coast than last year, which has resulted in weather disturbances missing us to the north and wintery weather concentrating east of the Rockies.

Arctic air is unlikely to return this winter

It was on the cold side for the time of year here yesterday along with an all day drizzle. The good thing is the rain was slow enough it didn't all run down to the Gulf... I'm just hoping that spring is not delayed to long for those of us looking to put seed in the ground with high hopes of filling a lot of jars and freezer space up.

A couple years ago, I lost a sizable amount of plants that were already in the ground when I had a 24F low temperature in the middle of May. That wasn't too fun. I'm thinking by early March it will be above average in your area, most of February will be at or below average for temperatures.
