Looks like Grand Isle getting pretty close to one (average 17.2 degrees C in coldest month): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_...isiana#Climate

I honestly had never heard of this before. With global warming being as it is, Louisiana could be one of the Lower 48 to join Florida in being tropical.

And this January might even average 18+ C for Grand Isle, since it's forecasted to be a warm La Nina. I'll keep my eye on it.

Stats are so wrong. January mean should be 54-56F, comparable to Galveston.

Source? I'm not saying you are wrong, I just didn't know The Weather Channel would be so wrong.

I wouldn't put anything past The Weather Channel. But FWIW, that Wikipedia link is 5 years old and their current averages seem much more realistic. For example, on January 1st they have averages of 63/45°F.

What about South Florida? It's definitely tropical, and there may be (although this is only something I have heard, never seen the data to vindicate it) tropical microclimates in Texas.

I don't count it as pure tropical since they may see 40's every few years now that it has warmed up so much. But in 40 more years most of FL will be tropical...

That does not make Florida any less tropical. Even factoring them in, it averages out tropical.
