Far above average temperatures seem to be the norm for most areas of the US for the first half of the winter season these days, every year is mostly the same.

Has been in FL since 2011. Almost never see a temp below 33f anymore when Tampa saw 19f to 24f year after year in the 1980's. I have not been below 33f in so many years and i am north of Tampa.

I must be stupid; I cannot figure out why su) or how sunrise and sunset both become later, albeit at varying speeds, before the winter Solstice.

Days are longer now as the sun sets later. I love it when it gets dark before 630. When the days get longer i think of dry hell coming this summer.

Our time doesn't match up perfectly with Solar time so you get little discrepancies like that.

December has been mild enough, and November slightly below average, such that by some metrics, December might end up less winterlike. The three metrics to watch

November 2023
Snowfall: 5"
Average Low: -2.7C
Monthly Low: -11.2C

December 2023 MTD
Snowfall: 3"
Average Low: -1.6C
Monthly Low: -7.1C
