Here's the situation in Brisbane. Jacarandas in bloom. Poincianas are not. Grass brown.

Please excuse the terrible quality photo. Too jet lagged to do better.

Yeah, some years the Poinciannas are 4 to 6 weeks after the Jacarandas
The Poincianas are in full bloom in the deep north ( ie Darwin, Cairns and Townsville )

15 minutes from me today... Area with bare trees. It's so annoying how we never get uniform peak colors because of all the different types of trees.

Basically Locust, Birch and some Maples are almost or bare

Oaks and Hickories are changing colors

Sugar Maples are near or past peak now. Putting on a show as usual

A cold southerly change moved through Brisbane today creating some impressive skies over the Bay.

That's about where we were at before the first frost. But since that first frost was a hard one (26F), the leaves have been falling pretty fast, despite the warm temperatures.

These photos are from a bike ride this Wednesday (Oct 25).

We got about 2 hours of sun on Tuesday afternoon and then it's been thick clouds like in the photos all day from Wednesday to Friday, or even just thick fog (Thursday morning).

The Redcliffe Markets were packed yesterday.

There was even a small cohort of anti-vaxxers.

Dunno what beach this dude came from.

Seems a little early in the year for sunflowers but nevertheless here you go.

This one's for Joe: avos vs mangoes.

First little snowfall last night. I suppose for weather records purposes, this would count as snow accumulation (0.1" or so) even though none accumulated on the ground since snow accumulation is recorded in vials that are up from the ground and therefore would be a sufficiently cold surface to not melt snow like the ground does?

Nice. Snowfall is measured on a snowboard placed on the ground.
