Lovely to have the ECL coming ashore :-) About time we got rid of that usual riff-raff rubbish. The more rain/cloud, the better it is for us all :-)

Poured down with rain, some torrential falls all night & early this morning . 76mm fell (to 9am) in the city - wettest July day in 23 years . Most suburbs in the north, south and east had falls ranging from 50-90mm. Very windy too, max gust - so far - of 85km/hr at airport.
The radar (64 km Sydney (Terrey Hills) Radar Loop) looks very nice for the second day running .
Sitting here & listening to the rain fall is lovely music indeed . It was fun walking to the bus stop this morning in the pouring rain. Everything is looking very clean and shiny & a great drink for lawns and gardens .

Wow, that's a pretty decent dousing.

The thermostat controlled heating (that means it comes on whenever the indoor temperature gets cold) is now firing on all cylinders. First time it's been on this high since some time in May. Now heating toward 23°C / 73°F in my computer room.

Bloody fantastic . We've had much more dousing falls since then . Rain to 9am Wed 76.8mm; to 9am yesterday 39.8mm and to now (3am) 82mm. Heavy rain has eased off to showers now.
The current MTD total of 215.2mm (nealry 220% of average) makes it the highest July total in 59 years (220mm in 1952). If this is exceeded then will be the wettest July since 1950 (336mm). Also YTD total stands at 915mm - how cool is that . Certainly makes up for the rather poor rains of last month

I'm happy our YTD rainfall is finally back to average after a dry midwinter spell - though there may be a fair bit in the next few days.

Impressive. Hopefully you won't get flooding like Brisbane did earlier this year.

Sorry, I meant to say "back down to average" (having been above most of the previous time this year, and with 4 of the previous 7 years substantially wetter than average - I dream of a return to the drier span of 2000-2003 - the period Jul 2000 to June 2001 was our driest 12 months since 1914-15 - and at one stage we had a 411-day run with only one fall over 25mm! - bliss!)
