LaNotte? Did it then become Shooters? There was a place on US1 on the intracoastal in Boynton that always seemed to be changing names.

You could be right. I wouldn’t have gone there when it was Shooters as at the time I would’ve been in my “ going south” phase again. But, now that you mention it, it did change names a few times.

I do remember that LaNotte was round and we walked up and down stairs a lot.

There was another place on Federal south of Linton in Delray (could’ve been the old Executive Lounge ) that was kind of a punkish nightclub. I believe it was 2 stories though. It had couches and stuff- ring a bell for anyone?

Okay- here’s some interesting stuff on LaNotte/Shooters:

There was a Mexican restaurant on the east side of Federal north of there. We figured out what it was a few years ago but darn if I can remember.

It was set back from the road and I think you went down a little dirt road to get to it. Might have been called Juanita’s.

I went to Dante’s Den in Briny Breezes for my 17th birthday . My illegal beer night.

I was a metal head and opera fan . Still am. So places related to those were my hangouts- mainly Broward and Dade county places in the late 80s-early 90s. Especially Summers on the Beach and Button South.

Do you remember LaNotte on the intracoastal in Boynton? There’s a park there now. That was the mid 80s. Kind of a disco place.

Nope don't remember that place. I moved to Florida in the early 80's and mainly went to clubs in south Palm Beach county except for Safari which was on PGA Blvd or Shooters, Yesterdays or The Candy Store if I was dragged there by friends in Broward Co.

Moved from the Jersey Shore so before that was spent in clubs in and around AC. Gone are the days of paper licenses when you could use those to get into clubs at 17....

How about The Elephant Walk in Boca? Was literally one of the first places to open west of I95, and the owners bought it as a tax write off, and in 3 months had their original investment back and were turning a profit. ( safe to say they underestimated the market....). There was After Dark on 2nd ave and Big Daddy’s on federal... and that was about it. Then, Bounty Lounge opened when they built Holiday Inn on Glades... and a 4:00 club opened out west in another holiday inn ( lakeside). That was boca’s booming days.... was SO much fun back then. I just find it overbuilt and crowded now. Everyone’s in a hurry and angry.

I moved to Boca in 1980 but I was single and few years later married with kids. But these are the places we went to; we loved Fort Lauderdale but these were closer; loved Elephant Walk; showed the area was hungry for good places and it was good. Also loved Tycoons. Used to go there for business lunches when we had clients in.

I still work and live right around all those places. I could walk to Glades Plaza.

I haven't been to Glades Plaza in years, even though I frequented that plaza quite often when I lived in Boca. I'm glad to see that Abe & Louie's and TooJay's are still in business, but was terribly saddened to learn of the closure of Brewzzi a few years ago, which was one of my favorite restaurants in Boca. My goodness, that restaurant had the best pizza I've ever eaten at a sit-down restaurant. Did the business owners relocate or retire, or did the restaurant simply go out of business?

I worked at both of these bars.. the Bounty Lounge and The Wildflower from 1983 to 1991. I worked first as a cocktail waitress and then as a bartender at both. Fun days!!

Another +1 for Elephant Walk. A bunch of us from work in Delray used to make a point of meeting there once a month.
