I do remember Dante's Den as well as the Gipper. Went to Dante's for my 17th birthday and was served beer. Got a crush on some bass player that was in a band that played there.

That apartment was also dangerously close to a (very old) Dunkin Donuts on Congress.I might have mentioned earlier in the thread that I have a niece and a couple nephews who go there all the time. I was just there with them again in November. Aside from the Pier still being a mess, it seems pretty much the same to me as it always did--I've visited it a lot since the 70s. Yes, Braves and Expos, spring training and the West Palm Beach Expos minor league team. I worked there when I was in high school . . . I'm a big baseball fan, so that was a great experience. That's one way I got to meet a lot of players.

Even before I worked there, I got to meet Hank Aaron a number of times, as a good friend of mine from school was his nephew (and lived right down the street from the WPB Municpal Stadium, right off of Palm Beach Lakes). I also had an uncle in Los Angeles who worked for the California Angels, so I got to meet a lot of players that way, too.

Looking back on all of that, I realize how stupid I was to not try to use all those contacts to get a job in Major League Baseball. But that's only one of a large number of things that I was very stupid about as a kid, lol. My uncle also worked on the Paramount lot (he actually worked for Gene Autry--Autry owned the Angels), and I let those possibilities fly by without giving much thought to them, too.We used to go there a lot, too.

OMG i remember pofolks lived there and omg the draft houseomg memories the hospital still living in lake worthless and i loved driving the beach in circles for numbers every night worth my bff we called it cat and mouse at spring break

I was very disappointed when a girlfriend in Boca recently informed me that Brewzzi closed its doors several years ago. Hand to God, that restaurant had the most delicious pizza I've ever eaten in the United States.

Slightly west of US1 seems to be doing OK but as you head to the beach the amount of vacant real estate is jarringly noticeable.
They killed Atlantic Ave. with the over-gentrification. It's a complete tourist area now.

Remember the awesome Christmas displays the National Enquirer would put up in Lantana?

Yeah. I drive past that location several times a week and am not sure where it was, exactly.

The official address was 600 E.Coast Avenue. Bit if you are on US1 it was just a little north of the Friendly Greek.

Thanks. I think the phone tower or whatever you call it is still there.

My parents would drive us there from Deerfield when we were kids. Lantana seemed so far away!

We went up US1 most of the way as the 95 exit wasn’t there yet or something.

Or maybe they just liked the drive.

I miss Powers lounge in Delray. It's Buddah Sky Bar now.
